About The Boardwalk Hotel
What makes us Special?
The Boardwalk Hotel is soon to celebrate its 100th Birthday.
It's the oldest, and in our opinion,
the most beautiful hotel in St. Ignace.
Built in 1928 by William Vallier, it originally had two stories
and featured 52 Steam Heated Room (there was an annex).
In the 1950’s the third floor was added
to accommodate the influx of workers who
came to build the Mackinac Bridge.
Today, after a 3 year renovation,
the Boardwalk Hotel is proud to offer

In honor of her return, we have curated a luxury experience
to make your stay with us incomparable.
Each room is different, really. A combination of old and new, originals and re-covered, modern and old fashioned, The Boardwalk will always keep you guessing; was this original or new? Some things will be obvious, others not so much. We hope you enjoy the discovery.
Our ROOMS
Each room has been lovingly outfitted with premium necessities. Our mattresses are from the Clare Bedding Company, revered throughout Michigan for over 35 years; our pillows and comforters are from Frette, serving the finest hotels around the world for over a century, our rare, gigantic Dutch European pillows are by Amity Home and will make lounging in bed a dream; our custom linens are from Matouk, handcrafted in Fall River, Massachusetts, for nearly 100 years;
and our bath and body products come from C.O. Bigelow,
the oldest Apothecary in America.
Everything we've selected has been proven, over time, to be excellent.
FIREWORX BAR
FIREWORX is a unique lounge for locals and visitors to visit with friends and family. Designed as a fun living room, FIREWORX will be your place to relax after a day of work, walking the Island, or visiting the attractions. We have a fine selection of beverages, both alcoholic and non, as well as really delicious small bites. An ever changing menu will be part of the experience.
